A Flutter app that makes everyday budgeting in Vietnam feel light, honest, and low-friction.
Rủng Rỉnh (working names XuXu / Spendio) is a personal-finance app I’m building for people who want to keep an honest eye on their money without the guilt-trip spreadsheets. The name is a Vietnamese expression for the comfortable feeling of having a little money jingling in your pocket.
Why I’m building it
Most budgeting apps are either too heavy (double-entry accounting for people who just want to know if they can buy lunch) or too shallow (a pretty chart and nothing actionable). Rủng Rỉnh aims for the middle: fast capture, gentle insight, zero shame.
What it does
- Two-tap expense capture — logging a coffee shouldn’t feel like filing taxes.
- Envelope-style budgets tuned for how people actually spend in Vietnam.
- Calm insights that nudge rather than nag.
- Offline-first sync so it works on the bus, in the market, anywhere.
What I’m learning
Building it solo means owning product, design, and engineering at once — which is exactly the end-to-end thinking I try to pass on to my students. Flutter lets one person ship a genuinely native-feeling app on both platforms, and Riverpod keeps the state honest as the feature set grows.
